Summer, Summer, Summer Time

Our summer has been pretty low key this year.  Actually, extremely, very, hugely low key.  After having winter & fall babies, I was surprised how different a Spring baby would be.  I thought I would reap the benefits of lots of stroller walks and soaking up a little vitamin D during nap time, but that didn't happen.  Since Nathaniel doesn't like his car seat, and has been deemed "Mr. Catnapper", we spent many days inside - at home, or Target, or the mall, or Costco; anywhere with AC so he & I wouldn't melt together in the Baby Bjorn.

As Mr. Catnapper, he really only napped if I held him or in the Baby Bjorn.  Some may say this is spoiling them, but I like to throw caution to the wind that way... I know the truth.  In a few months, he won't want me to hold him.  He'll be too busy trying to keep up with his brother & sister and will only have time for Momma when he's hungry or needs comfort.  Needless to say, I'm gettin' my fill now.

What can I say?  He's a Momma kind of guy.

The most eventful part of the summer for our family was my husband and 4 year old baby girl going to California.  Chris' cousin wanted Jillian to be a flower girl in her July wedding.  Since this may be the one and only time for her to be a flower girl, I encouraged Chris to make the travel arrangements and guard our baby with his life.  I would expect no less from him.

While I desperately wanted to be a part of this adventure, it was too expensive.  Plus, traveling across the country with Mr. Catnapper was not my idea of a good time.  Not to mention my breastpump would have been my carry-on in order to keep my morning pumping session for my work stash.  No thanks.  I stayed home with the boys and enjoyed my last few days of maternity leave.

Who was I to deny her this happiness.  Utter bliss.  This was truly a Daddy & Daughter trip of a lifetime.  I hear the wedding was beautiful and Jillian charmed everyone she met.  Plus, Sea World is super cool and a lot like Busch Gardens, but with big fish tanks & pools.

In other news, I went back to my roots (with a few highlights) AND I have bangs!

Benjamin has become a Lego obsessed genius.  Play in Legos...

And lastly, my little family has become obsessed with Minecraft and they're trying to make me one of them.

My husband and two oldest children have spent countless hours building a Minecraft world with a castle, romantic getaway, farms, waterfalls, mountains, etc.  Family game night has taken on a whole new meaning.  Apparently, they can all play in this world together with their various electronic devices.  Thankfully, they stopped trying to confiscate my iPhone when my husband got a new iPhone.  Naturally, we have to keep the old iPhone so we can ALL play Minecraft.

Help me.
