I've been MIA lately. Just busy at work, home, everywhere. But I'm super excited for the Fall season arriving in our area!
This time of year always makes me think of my wedding day. Our 7th wedding anniversary is coming up this Monday, October 15th. I can't believe 7 years have passed. I have so many fond memories of our wedding day. I was looking through our album the other night and couldn't help the roller coaster of emotions.
I came across this picture of my husband with his father. My father-in-law passed away in March 2011. We miss him dearly. He was such an amazing person! He played the trumpet at our wedding and I will never forget how captivating it was to hear him playing while I was walking down the isle.
Then I came across this pictures of me dancing with my father and crying.
I had "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler played for the father-daughter dance. My Daddy passed away in February of this year. This song has always made me think of him and always will. I'll cherish that he and I shared this moment together.
When the dance was over, I still remember him telling me that he didn't cry because he thinking of his VA Tech Hokies. Way to keep your game face on Dad!
I also cherish this picture of me with my parents. Four years after this picture was taken, they were divorced after 30 years of marriage. It's crazy how much life can change it just a few years.
Now -- I will stop sounding like a Debbie Downer and move on to happy memories from our wedding day. This was one of my photographers favorites. He still has it on his website. I have a hard time looking at it without blinking like a crazy person.
And the infamous wardrobe malfunction.
Yeah, my bustle wasn't bustling. My wonderful wedding coordinator
fixed me up with rubber bands, bobby bins, and anything else she could
find. God bless her and everyone else who patiently waited outside the reception hall!
Then, there were all the beautiful fall decorations; including our delicious cake.
As well as, the unity candle and wedding program that I made. I made several things for our wedding, but I was most excited about these. I'm not a very crafty person so these were a big accomplishment for me.
If you look closely, you'll see that the holes the ribbon goes through are maple leaf cutouts -- oh yeah. I was really diggin' the fall theme. I painstakingly punched every.single.hole!
This picture of me with my favorite girls is very special to me. It's been the last time that we were all together in one place.
I adore this panoramic picture of the wedding party praying before lunch too.
And finally, a picture of my husband breaking it down for his groomsmen.
Seeing this picture now makes me think of our son, Benjamin. Now I know where he gets his dance moves from...
Happy Fall everyone!

your wedding was beautiful - you look gorgeous! and I'm sure that is hard that it comes with so many different emotions looking back at it.
